get comfy this is long........ Im constantly being asked for advice on various diet plans and groups....... (yesterday i received 31 different messages asking the same thing from people across the UK) so hers my input..... SLIMMING WORLD...... So many PTs slag this off for various reasons. Theres no need to. Slimming World offers a great support factor and structured plan which do get results. You cant argue with the results!! I might disagree with one or two aspects of it but overall it works. I know loads who do this and achieve excellent results. WEIGHT WATCHERS.......again slagged off so much by PTs. Again a great support factor and structure. Again i disagree with a small part but thats my own opinion but results are great when you stick with it. I have loads of friends who do this and have great results. ATKINS....... so so bad. Any diet you start should be long term. If you do ATKINS long term you will become seriously ill. Your body needs Carbs to function and certainly shouldnt have as much bad fat in it. BALANCED DIET.... first of all most people dont know what a healthy balanced diet is. People tell me they eat a well balanced diet but when i look at what they eat its actually an unhealthy diet with far too much fat, not enough protein and too many bad processed carbs. Not enough fruit, veg and berries either. CLEAN EATING.....my favourite. Clean eating can be added to any diet plan so if you do Weight Watchers or Slimming World you can make clean meals. I do 4-6 meal per day diet plans using a detox and clean eating. It isnt a short term diet. Its a lifestyle change. Once you remove certain types of bad food from your diet then add it back in you will see why we dont eat processed food. The only problem with some Clean Eating plans is the Trainers make it too unrealistic. Ive seen many wrote over the years and most are so strict that 90% of the population couldnt keep it going for longer than 2 weeks. Its a shame. Design it so they can do it forever. No one just wants to be healthy for 2 weeks. We should be looking at getting our clients healthy for life, able to fight diseases in 10 years time, age better etc. SUPPLEMENTS...... this is where theres so many different opinions. Some love them, some hate them. Some people need them to achieve the 4-6 meals per day. It is far better for someone to have 3 clean meals and 1-2 shakes per day if it means they can maintain it long term and longer than 2 weeks!!! However be careful with WHEY PROTEIN if you are doing it long term. Dr Mitra Ray; a biochemist with a Ph.D. in cellular biology from Stanford University has researched this a lot and these are her findings on whey protein; hard to digest, too much protein to assimilate, contains allergens, boating, highly acid foaming, promotes inflammation, promotes cancer and may contain antibiotics, growth hormones and even steroids. Again you will get results adding this to a healthy balanced diet or clean diet but what this will do long term is a little worrying to me. I used to use Whey protein, recommend it and sell it. However new research comes out all the time so you need to change with it and look after your health and clients health too. I used to make a great income from selling it but you need to look at long term health. I changed to a different product with less profit margin but better health benefits. I use complete shakes now as i train 3 hours a day and need them for cell repair, recovery, extra calories, energy and good nutrition. Her research on the complete shakes is; plant based protein and easy to assimilate, non-allergenic, alkaline to the body, low glycemic complex carbs which provide low release energy, reduces inflammation, whole food nutrition, promotes lean mass and fat loss. JUICE PLUS...... there isnt actually a juice plus diet so cant really comment on this and no one else can either. Theres no such thing!!! Theres capsules for wellbeing and long term health and theres the complete shakes (complete meal, carbs, protein and high in fibre). Theres lots of PTs adding the shakes into different clean diets, healthy balanced diets and detoxs. I dont agree with some of the diet plans the juice plus complete shakes have been added to but others are great. Usually 4-6 meals per day is a great start. Some love the shakes, some hate them. Again Its personal opinion......you cant argue with results. Theres enough customers for Slimming World, Weight Watchers, all PTs and other diet plans. The one thing that stands out all the time is SUPPORT!!! if you get support with a plan or diet group the likelihood is you will succeed if its realistic no matter which one you do. Wouldnt it be awesome if we all supported each other and have the same goal in mind.........GET AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE HEALTHY, CONFIDANT AND FIT?????
