good big paper, big talking porch kitty is missing, cool and windy sunday morning. iron skillets sitting on the stove as a reminder of my efforts to re- season them yesterday. toot says buy new ones. new ones have to be seasoned too so ill hang with the old. thinking LARD now ???? will have to get the sticky stuff out and start over. someone suggested scrubbing with salt/water paste. when I think back I switched from veg oil to canola oil ( spose to be healthier) that may be when the trouble began.....someone else suggested cooking the skillets and when cool use lard. stay tuned on this issue. I have made reservations for 3 nights in Columbus, ms for the spring pilgrimage. jeani wants to go and her dau, Amelia, wants to go also. jeani and I went many, many yrs ago. growing up there all I was interested in was riding around and looking at the girls/ladies dressed in period dresses. will check out the tales of the crypt tour in friendship cemetery, one night, where so many of my family members are laid to rest. love that cemetery !!! jeani is a photographer so know there will be lots of picture taking going on, but she always does when we go there. she was born there, altho she never lived there, so she has memories of visiting woo woo and granddaddy neal. Amelia remembers going there to visit aunt dot ipock before she passed away. once we went and of course j c sweetooth, aka johnny, was with us. jeani wanted to get a pic of her kids on the front porch of woo woos old house. we went by and someone was sitting on the porch so we stopped. johnny wouldnt get out and said I know youre not going to ask that lady if we can take a pic. I said I sure am !!!! no place for him to hide but he scooted down as far as possible in the seat. this is def something woo woo would have done. she wasnt bashful. I talked to the lady and explained what we wanted to do and told her I was raised in that house. she was so sweet and said go right ahead and got off the porch for us. ahhhh memories.......were worried as the big talking porch kitty didnt show for breakfast or dinner yesterday and so far no show this morn. will go to tonsters today to pick up some stuff theyre donating for the next homeless shelter yd sale soon. I sure have rambled a book this morn !!! have a good sunday. blessings.......
