good morning to all OFW,.. please have a minute to read this, China has started to increase its pressure against the Philippines in form of cheap harrassments, the latest being the issuance of travel advisory against the Philippines which reportedly cost us about half billion pesos in lost tourist revenues. In face of these increasing pressures or harrassments, what can a powerless and almost insignificant country like the Philippine do? Nothing, right? Thats what I thought until I found out that we have a good sandata to retaliate against China and the good thing about it is that we can use it without outwardly appearing to be retaliating against, or harrassing, them. What is this sandata? Abangan sa susunod na lingo. Joke lang mga pare. Our secret weapon is our nickel ore, which the Chinese sorely needs to produce stainless steel for its manufacturing industries. I found out that the Chinese import about 90%!! of their nickel ore needs from us after Indonesia banned its export of raw nickel ore. The good thing is that it is the Indonesian who started it and so we can use the same excuse they used - that we are going to process the raw ore ourselves and sell the high value-added finished nickel than exporting cheap raw ores. We can just say we are just following the pragmatic approach of Indonesia, and this way, the Chinese cant accuse us of harrassing them. This should give some sting to the Chinese economy, especially when it is entering its natural phase of decline. They simply cant afford any disruption in their manufacturing activity at this stage of their economy. And another plus factor is that it seems that there are not much other sources from which the Chinese can tap as the Philippines is the number one - and take note, numero uno! - producer of nickel ore in the whole wide world. And to add to the Chinese problem, all other large producers are large, industrialized countries like Australia who probably dont export their nickels in raw forms. This could mean that the Chinese, particularly their economy, will be hurt without the steady supply of our cheap raw nickel and again, dont forget, they get 90% of it from us and believe me that is no small matter for them. Therefore, I fully support the proposed patriotic bill of Senator Bam Aquino banning the export of nickel ore so that we can process it ourselves into higher value products (kuno), and Im urging the Senate to approve the bill immediately! Mr. Thieves, ay mali, Mr. Politicians nga pala, please just forget your pockets just this time and work for the good of the country, kahit ngayon lang po. MCI
