good news after a lengthy delay and having to refile papers and at cost (because the post office never got a letter to me) I have received notice from USCIS saying my request to remove the conditions on my Permanent Resident status (you get a two year card when marrying a citizen and have to file after this time, although not one person on planet earth can tell you what said conditions are, but anyway ) has been approved and my 10 year card should be with me within 60 days. Finally!!!!!! (fingers crossed it arrives before we fly next month)
