But Gers fans they rallied round, At Ibrox Park with deafening sound. Win, lose, draw we didn’t care, But losing Rangers, too much to bear. We’ll win at Ibrox their lot did tease, Oh God no, please please please. So off we went fearing the worst, Would it happen, were we cursed? The game was over, We’d won three – two Ibrox awash with red white & blue. Amidst my joy I still felt sad, My thought they turned to my dear late Dad. One New Year arriving back on the bus, Parents waiting. Whats the fuss? My Dad was there, eyes all tears, For on Stairway 13 I’d stood for years. He took me to games when I was young, He taught me all the songs we sung. I did the same with my girl & boys, Rangers strips & Rangers toys. So we lost our league “tainted title” we said, Then the news we all did dread. Liquidation for Rangers was the tim cry, But Gers fans knew We wouldn’t die. We owed it to Our Fathers to fight, To save The Rangers with all our might. And this We did in our true fashion, And We’re still here, even more passion. Try as they may to kill our team, Aye, only in their wicked dream. They want our club & fans to die, But No Surrender is our cry. I’m old now but feel the same, My love for Rangers, they’ll never tame. I brought up my kids the self same way, Be thankful for Rangers every day.
