grilling tips. 1. Use an electric starter for your charcoal. Lighter fluid leaves a taste behind. Some notice it and some dont. But when you are enjoying a nice grilled ribeye cooked to perfection you dont want to chance tasting the accelerate they used to light the grill. 2. Clean the grill. Some say they like their grill seasoned but its not sanitary. When you are done cleaning the grate, put some oil on a paper towel and wipe the wires to prevent food from sticking. Dont spray shit on it because it will burn off your eyebrows. 3. Set up a hot side and a cold side. move your charcoal to one side or put it in the middle and leave the outer edges for the cold side. Most meat you will indirect cook. Hotdogs, hamburgers, and thin cuts get direct heat. 4. When you light your grill, allow about 20 minutes for the briquettes to become ashen looking and red. That is the time to cook. You want the heat and not the flame. 5. Dont use forks. Use tongs or spatulas. Forks pierce the meat and leave a place for the juice to escape and leave your meat dry. 6. Finally probably the most overlooked and unknown step to grilling is after the food has been cooked to allow it to rest for 10 minutes before serving or cutting to allow the juices to redistribute. 7. Also it should be added that this next rule is optional. However if its not followed then you must wear a pink apron with a plastic vagina underneath .A minimum of three beers must be consumed throughout the grilling process.
