Following God and knowing his ways involve a resolute decision to remain committed, seeking first his kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). If we find that our hunger and thirst forGod and his kingdom are declining, we should reevaluate our priorities, honestly acknowledge our lukewarmness, and earnestly pray for a renewed desire for God and his favor. Failure to guard our hearts results in a departure from the paths of safety and a detrapment in a destructive snare; to watch over our hearts above all else results in a firm walk on a level path through his favor and grace.
