ha ha ha....Everyone is hatin the cold and the snow, but heres my testimony: I must be a wierdo. I dont mind shoveling snow. I figure its a great cardio workout, and I get to see my neighbors! BITD, I would ride my 10 speed EVERYWHERE, and in ALL types of weather (some of my friends may remember this). One of my boyfriends in particular had a motorcycle, and he would drive from Gaithersburg to pick me up, and out wed go. Id bundle up and wed get on that bike and ride in the winter! It was cold, cold, cold - but that was our only transportation and the only option if we wanted to see each other! Rockville to Washington Grove, or someones home in Gaithersburg... I can honestly say I wasnt a sissy about riding in the cold! But seriously, I love the beauty of a new fallen snow, especially at night. Sounds are muffled - and the world is a quieter place for a little while when everyone is tucked into their homes and youre the only one out...The sky is so clear, and the reflected light at night has some kind of magic to it....I do love the winter and my home state of Maryland..... I love all the seasons of this area. I dont know if I could move to a place where theres no real difference between one season and another. Id miss the flowers, flowering bushes and trees in the spring, summer thundershowers that rattle the house (and your teeth) with flashes of lightening so bright that you see spots, the lightening bugs rising from the grass in the evening and the crickets singing to each other, the beauty of the trees as they change from green to yellow to orange to red and brown, and finally stand bare, and the snow, when it comes....the fine, dry flakes that you can hardly see, or the fat flakes that whirl around before they finally find a place to rest... Yeah, I enjoy the seasons...the predictable changes every year. They are a comfort to me, and I look forward to them!
