ham soup not my soup is a very profound song that i came up with on a booze cruise. it’s very simple, but i love the cerebral production we put into it. the song is pretty much an anthem about things that we don’t necessarily want with us. while i’m only focused on ham and ham soup, the song has a deeper meaning behind it. i don’t eat ham, i never ate ham cus i don’t like ham - these lyrics are poetic and subliminal to describe how i’ve always been this nonconformist and and terrorist of all things normal. the idea of making it revolve around ham soup was inspired by an uncomfortable situation that i experienced where i had ham soup and i did not like it. i know a lot of people are used to my spooky punk tracks but this one i felt was necessary as it shows that i’m not just this gothic punk rock clown, but i’m very versatile and i’ve got rap skills and a little thug life in me and i wanted to dabble around in a more urbany, hip hop flow for this one. some of my favorite lines are “ham soup not my soup” and “i like soup thats not made with ham.” these were inspired by a legendary artist, austin mahone.
