he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, Proverbs 2:7 It is not so much simply that God blesses those who are Good as though we had something in us to compel Him to do anything. Instead, I believe, these words are to the convert, the one who has received Gods Grace by faith, and having believed, now can be assured that Grace builds upon Grace- that as we continue to live a transformed life in Christ we will continually receive an increase in wisdom from the Lord. It what has been called Perseverance of the Saints. You who believe are the Saints and He is your shield and guide so that you may know that you will persevere.
