hello all. last night we had a magnificent concert in Vitoria Spain, together with the wonderful Miguel Poveda. Before the concert, there was a very loud demonstration against Israel, inlcuding cries of Noa terrorista...Noa the terrorist. nice. no? in Israel i am attacked by the right and pay a very high price for being outspoken about peace and expressing left wing political views, and in Spain, the left calls me a terrorist. here below find what i read to the audience before the show: Dear friends I am so happy to be here with you this evening, but I cannot forget for a moment that as I speak, bombs are falling on Israel and Palestine. The night I left the country, a bomb fell 200 meters from my home! We were terrified but unhurt. Others are not as fortunate. One again, we are paying the price of the failure and cowardice of political and religious leaders, who have betrayed us, Arabs and Jews alike, by not doing everything in their power to avoid violence. No excuses are acceptable. I believe in peace, I believe in two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side, supporting each other, growing together. I believe in dialogue, it is the only way. I have written many times, we, Israelis and Palestinians alike, must recognize eachother, apologize to eachother and share the little we have. I would like to thank you, good people of Vitoria, for inviting me here and for listening to my music and message, and I would like to extend a special thanks to my friend Miguel Poveda , whose enormous talent is only surpassed by his enormous capacity for love.
