It is not old and outdated as it would appear; it is crusted and hard protecting him like a shell from the splashes, spills and spatter. Most care more about its appearance than its functionality. He wears it proudly and could care less if others see the gore, grime and splatter on it. If they only see that, they could never do his kind of work. The tool he wields is very hazardous, he views it as a brush to paint away the wrongs, a torch to hold off the darkness, in his hand it is a thing of beauty that performs glorious work. Yet to others it is the tool of an uncivilized man doing dark, barbarous deeds. But to use this tool he was willing to sacrifice all with no regret. He knew when he used it, Be swift and aggressive with it. He could not lay it down. He could never forget it. Critics demean his work as too hard, dark or primitive. But this medium is a savage one and he accepted and embraced it. Making him more proficient for it, His skill has a need and a purpose as heinous as it is. They comfortably sleep in their bed while he tirelessly works. All their efforts to civilize his work just prolongs it makes it darker. So he walks up to the weak and opinionated wearing his wounds and scars proudly. Thinking to him-self they don’t understand what it’s taken to think and speak that way, while he tries to shield them from the shadows, demons and specters he now carries. Peering deep inside them he says, “You’re welcome” turns and walks away Smiling.
