heres a dilemma for you to solve: ‘Me and my hubby have been married for two years, together in total for four. Although I get on well with his dad and two brothers, his mum really doesn’t like me. Whenever I go round to his family home (which isn’t that often despite the fact we’re married) she is very cold towards me and will make negative comments about my clothes, appearance and general behaviour. I’ve tried fighting her negativity with kindness, for example by giving her gifts, but it hasn’t worked. I’m starting to feel miserable about it. Should I tell my hubby that he needs to talk to his mother-in-law about how much her behaviour is upsetting me?’
