hey everyone!!! super awesome FREE event at my school this sunday!! i highly recommend you going if you can. its a great opportunity to listen to great artists in the industry and network. THIS SUNDAY! CAREERS IN ANIMATION Panel discussion and Q&A April 13, 2pm San Francisco State University, Coppola Theater FREE admission! Come learn from people with a variety of experience in stop-motion, 2D and 3D animation, games and in other areas. Our experts have worked as writers, animators, directors, and in other industry jobs and will answer as many questions as possible including how they find work, about creating or joining a start-up, etc. The panel will include: James Bennett- 3D animator who has worked for WETA, ILM and Dreamworks on such films as King Kong, The Hobbit 2, Iron Man 2, and How to Train Your Dragon 2. He now works at the networking company Zerply as Chief Creative. Mike Benna - freelance animator at Mekanism and a recent graduate from SF State. Among the projects he has worked on is a Pepsi commercial for the 2013 Superbowl. Victoria Most - 3D printing and castor at Fathom, She previously did puppet fabrication for Laika in Portland and for Henry Seliks Cinderbiter in SF. David Kertesz - senior 3D modeler at Zynga. He is currently working on Farmville 2. Chelsea Walton - Assistant editor at Pixar. She has worked on short animated promotional materials related to the features. Her screen credits include editing several independent films by Bay Area filmmakers and she graduated with a MFA from SF State University.
