hey friends, most of you have probably heard that the guitar player and bass player in Farewell Cool Reason are leaving the band for heavier/metal musical pursuits. Bands lose members, it happens. Sometimes its easier to deal with than others. Every time it does I take time to weigh/reflect/ponder what I am putting my energy into and wether or not the time has come to give up/throw in the towel/put music aside for a while/whatever. I actually revisit the motivations of why i work so hard creating music on a regular basis to keep my life/family /etc. balance in check and unselfish. While privately evaluating these things we had one of the smallest show turnouts I have played in years on Friday night. Like 5 paying patrons and one of the bands didnt even bother to show. Then we sold more CDs and T-shirts than I have at a single show in a couple of years. Some of them before the show started because they already knew our albums from online. Members of the other bands were well stoked on our set and and Ive received some very encouraging and positive messages about our new songs/old EPs/performance etc. over the weekend. Dont think that I was really that close to closing up shop but to be fair to myself/my family and every other aspect of my life affected by the time i put into music I have to entertain the thought as a realistic option. What Im really saying is a big thanks to those who poured out some sincere encouragements at a time whenI and they themselves didnt know how much I probably needed it. so thanks. -d
