hey guys, i just want to give warning to any of you who currently take your car to schumacher subaru off palm beach lakes and okeechobee in west palm beach, florida or those of you who are planning on purchasing your subaru from them. my advice is to look elsewhere. i have had nothing, but abysmal service and terrible experiences at that dealership. to start off, when i was making the purchase on the vehicle, their financial and warranty individual kept trying to push all this different added coverage and was basically trying to force me into paying for things i really don’t need and had a hard time understanding that i simply was not interested in the things he was pushing onto me. once it finally clicked in his head that i was not going to be purchasing the added plans, he turned so extremely cold to me and was a jerk until the financial processed was finalized. i didn’t immediately drive the car from their dealer when i bought it because i had them install a rear backup camera on the car. when i came to collect the car, i noticed that they installed the incorrect rearview mirror (one without home link), even though they said that the mirror would include home link and all other functions as the mirror that already came with the car, only with the added functionality of having the camera screen in the mirror as well. then, i noticed that they left all the wires they cut during the install process scattered throughout my car and they wouldn’t own up to the fact that they didn’t clean my car. thirdly, whenever i bring my car into the dealership for them to perform service on the car, they always manage to mess something else up, therefore forcing me to bring the car back to them before the regular milage service interval. in one instance, my home link ceased to work with the mirror, so a new unit was needed, so i brought my car in and left it overnight for them to install a new unit. when i picked up my car the next day and drove it home, the home link still did not work. turns out they didn’t even change out the unit. afterwards, i brought it back for them to swap out the unit, and when i received my car, i noticed that they had torn the leather from my steering wheel, and then needed to replace the steering wheel and yet again held the car overnight so they could install the new rearview mirror unit as well as replace the steering wheel. at another visit, i brought my car in for it’s regular oil change interval, topping off of fluids and for the dealer to seal a wire covering which they slit and never sealed when they were installing my camera. the slit was causing water to enter into my trunk when it would rain. i waited four hours at the dealer for this service to be performed and after four hours i was told that my car was ready and when i went to inspect it and saw that the slit was still not sealed. absolutely nothing was done to it, meanwhile they informed me that the first thing they did was seal the slit in the rubber surrounding the trunk wires. they also left their trash inside my car along with the paper that goes on the floor so they don’t dirty up my car and the plastic seat covers. all of those things should be removed and i should receive my car as it came to them. the past week i took my car into subaru for them to check out a popping noise that was coming from my trunk and i even provided them with the TSB that subaru released regarding this issue and they still didn’t know what to do. the dealer then asked to keep my car overnight so they may try to figure out what the problem may be. keep in mind that i printed out the TSB that subaru released and brought that with me and let them have it so they may follow those instructions and resolve the issue. when i picked my car up the next day, they told me that they resolved the issue and that it was what i had originally told them. also when i picked up my car, there was trash left inside it yet again. that evening i noticed that my third brake light (the middle one) was not lighting up when i would press on the brake and also i noticed that i was missing a clip for the fender liner on the front passenger side of my wheel well, so i called them up and they told me to bring the car in. i brought the car in and they took it back to the shop. upon returning the car to me, they informed me that whoever worked on the car did not reattach the wiring, therefore the light would not work. later that night, i noticed that my steering wheel had a tear in it AGAIN! this is the second time that they have damaged the steering wheel, and that means that i would yet again need to bring my car in for something other than its regular scheduled maintenance. i contacted schumacher subaru to inform them on the issue and they were extremely rude to me over the phone. i even had my father go in to speak to them about this and they are saying that there is no way that they scratched my steering wheel, which is completely untrue because they have done it before and my wheel was not torn before leaving it with them. they have a very hard time returning calls and do not own up to their mistakes. i will be taking my business elsewhere, but i am still at a loss with all of my lost time and my current situation with the rip in my wheel. i contacted subaru of north america and filed a complaint against the dealership. i will no longer be servicing my car with them. i want to warn others to look elsewhere, because these people will make your life a living hell. every issue i have had with the car i have addressed with the managers and employees at this location, but they are an extremely rude group of individuals who do not treat their customers as they should. i am extremely sorry for this rant, but i would rather everyone be aware and stay away from this horrible place.
