In this opportunity I am writing to let you know that the E-Teacher Scholarship is now open. If you are planning to continue your professional development, but are unable to travel to the United States, this is a good opportunity for you. In the attached documents you will find the announcement and application form for this program. This program includes nine different online courses which are provided through the University of Oregon. Please note that this program is only for Nicaraguan teachers of English or teacher trainers In addition, candidates should meet the following criteria: •The ability to complete academic work at a U.S. university level (an advanced level of reading and writing in English, roughly equivalent to a TOEFL score of 500 or IBT score of 70) •An understanding of English technical terms relating to computers and the Internet •Consistent and reliable access to the Internet •A good command of the necessary vocabulary for the topic of the course for which the candidate is nominated •Regular access to e-mail and the Internet (Very important!) •Have an internet connection at home •Familiarity with Windows, the Internet and web browsers •The ability to navigate in Windows or other appropriate programs and create a Word document •The ability to type in English well enough to perform online tasks in real-time and submit written assignments in a timely manner.
