hi folks Im giving a paper on the Internet Poetry Tumblr blog - and the image macro as poetic form - at a conference called Information Overload at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland on Thursday. its all a bit last minute because Im juggling various stuff (then again, last minute best minute, to twist a Beat maxim), but anyway Im wondering if any macro-poets/lovers of macro-poetry fancy giving me their two cents on the form/what it means to them etc., that I can potentially quote during my talk on the day. responses to questions such as: what attracts you to the form? how do you respond to a good macro-poem? what *makes* a good macro-poem? what can it do that conventional poetry cant? on the flipside, what is it that makes it different - more poetic - from other macro forms? what do you see as the social/political/technological/poetic implications of this kind of poetry, if any? is this the future of poetry? (or, less hyperbolically, where do you see the future of macro-poetry)? and since Ive used the term macro-poetry a few times already, do you think this is the right term? loadsa questions here but Im interested to hear responses as pithy or as sprawling as you like, and indeed to questions I have forgotten or not thought to pose - all will be very gratefully received. and if you know any good macro-poets/lovers of macro-poetry whod be interested in sharing their two cents please feel free to tag em. many many thanx, Calum
