#htlmp can you advise pls Good morning HTLMP, hope youre all well! Bit dreary down here in Kent but at least its Friday!! Im after some advice pls and apologies if youve already covered this subject in a previous post, I mustve missed it 😞 Ive been running my hobbie/business page on Facebook since December 2013 and its been going from strength to strength, Ive put an awful lot of hard work time and effort into getting it going whilst I was on maternity leave and then keeping it going now that Im back at work full time and Im incredibly proud of what Ive achieved. It was however brought to my attention last night that someone else on Facebook who makes and sells the same product as me, has changed their name from one they already had since (from what I can tell from their posts etc) September 2013 to the exact same as mine in February of this year and their product (in my opinion) is totally substandard to mine. Im not worried that shes making the same product as me, in fact I think competition can be healthy and besides, there are plenty of pages and other sites that do, my issue is that she has used my name and people searching for my business page may come across hers and take one glance at what she produces and think its me. When I chose the name of my business there was a reason behind it and its all part of the story behind what I produce; I came up with the idea when on maternity leave and made sure I searched the internet night after night to see if it already existed and even checked on the government trademark site so was over the moon when I found that nobody already had it! I purchased both the .co.uk and the domain names and registered myself as self employed with HMRC, dont get me wrong, its no money spinner but I love doing it and wanted to do it all properly and officially. Im truly devastated now and dont know what to do. Can you offer any advice? Many thanks in advance, its much appreciated.
