https://clyp.it/putey10s Accordion bands were very popular in Britain during the 1930s, and none were more popular on record than Primo Scalas Accordeon Band, directed by Harry Bidgood. This type of record is not covered in Brian Rusts book, but their jolly arrangements coupled with a fine choice of vocalists that included (amongst others) Sam Browne, Vera Lynn, Pat OMalley, Jack Cooper & The Three Ginx, means there is much to be enjoyed in their performances by dance band enthusiasts, if their tastes are broader than just the hot dance era of 1927-32. Here from 1935 is a film selection from the Maurice Chevalier film The Man from the Follies Bergere, with a great vocal I was lucky by Pat OMalley in the middle section. The Man from the Follies Bergere (F 1333-2) recorded approx. June 1935.
