From its beginning in 2009 till february 2011, it was a very small unknown currency having a very small market cap but since then, it has reached nearly $625 with a small overreach at $1200. There are over 400 bitcoin-like crypto-currencies in the world with a market cap of over $8billion. (Details are in this link) This is not a small figure in any way but there is definitely a danger if they start gaining value in comparison to dollar the way bitcoin did. It can be devastating not just for dollar but for all those currencies which are inflation prone and highly unstable. That is why it is important to remind the governments that inflation is their biggest enemy today. One mistake can turn irreversible. To safeguard the purchasing power of its citizens and to strengthen the value of the currency by quality growth is the biggest responsibility of each government. People dont like the parties or the individuals. They just want sound money, sound growth. The government that does not take them seriously, would be demolished.
