https://facebook/CultScreens?fref=ts Cult Screens shared a link. 5 September · Edited Your last chance is here to catch a film at The Old Town Bowl this summer and what a cracking line up it is! eepurl/2AhK9 Last weekend of cinema at the Old Town Bowl Swindon us4.campaign-archive1 Clare E A Kingston cultscreens.co.uk/faq/ What times do the films start? The film start time does vary throughout the summer depending on the month but it is always after sunset. Please not that that film times can vary on the night depending on cloud but it is never before the published time. For times relating to a specific event, please check the event information for further details. Clare 12/09/2014 To: [email protected] I have waited over a week now for a response to this e-mail, no response has been forthcoming: I went to see Back to the Future yesterday, as I live nearby and having been to see The Goonies - where the film started at 9 (a cool day - after rain all day - weather wise - last night was warm and dry) I decided to arrive at 8:43 so Id have time to go to the toilet as it stated on my e-mail receipt that the film would start after 8:45 (iPlayer is not working for me and many others so I decided to try to see as much of the Stonehenge documentary as I could prior to arrival - it has been down for me and many other since July) The film had already started when I arrived - in fact when I viewed it online when I got home I found it was around 7-10 minutes in. When I gave my name in at the gate I asked has it started and the two condescending girls laughed and said that they had been starting the films earlier and that it said on the website - I checked last night when I got back and found that was not true - they also said I hadnt missed much and were extremely casual and carefree about it, as you can see from what I saw later that night I had and I had missed important early clues and significances which then ruined the film, because these werent felt as significant as they should have been. I said that it didnt say this on my e-mail - you dont go around checking a website for a something that you have an e-mail confirmation ticket for as if there are any changes you would have got further e-mails stating that, I did not receive any further communications from you. I said I came at this time to give me time to go to the loo, so I went in uncomfortably having to go in front of people to settle down, I later in the film had to miss some more, running to go to the loo as I felt really uncomfortable at this point. What I was looking forward to was completely ruined by their behaviour, I was going to see the film as I am quoting it in a book, stating that we now had the bad 1985 and the awful future, because of the behaviour of certain people, the two girls were a perfect illustration of how bad it is now and how and why it is and continues to be awful. I will not be going to any more cult screens events and I will encourage others not to go. I expect to be refunded for this event. Further to your email and the points you have raised, I have spoken to the staff who worked on the gate that night and I understand you were the last person to arrive and they tried to get you in as quickly as possible as the film had just started. They apologise if this was misinterpreted as not caring but they were simply trying to assist you in getting in quickly. Our film start times do vary throughout the year from 9.30pm in June, to 8.30 pm in September. This information is our website and this is what our box office staff confirmed on arrival. The film start times can also vary on the night by approximately 30 minutes depending on how dark it is. I have also spoken to the staff on site that evening who have said that the film started at the earliest start time as it was already dark. I am sorry to hear that you will be telling people not to attend our events after this but we are not willing to offer a refund in this instance.
