https://facebook/events/706881029391789/ Thank you for all the bookings, we have run out of seats! We will look forward to seeing you at the demo tomorrow evening. *********************************************************************** As well as Top Gun we have a demo horse for Saturday evening! Here is the email the owner sent into us, the horse is called Tally approx. 15.2/16hh ConnemaraX: Hi. I bought a 7-year-old mare last November. Since having her she has always been tricky to get on, she will not stand still. When eventually, I have her standing still, as soon as I hold the stirrup to put my foot in it, is when she starts to move around. Once mounted I have to sit extremely quietly otherwise she appears to spook and dash forward. It will take a few circuits of the arena of walking quietly to relax her. Once this is established, I can attempt a transition to trot. This transition is only successful when she appears to gain trust in the rider. Once in trot and she seems relaxed, there have been occasions when even rising too high she will hollow her back, raise her head and neck and skittle forward. I feel, as I have no control. I then will have to bring her back to walk and the whole process will start again. I have never hacked her out as I feel if something were to worry her I would have no control and would feel vulnerable. She’s as calm as a seaside donkey when on the ground and will accept any handling. We have a great rapport on the ground but this relationship does not reflect when mounted. I have had her back, teeth and saddle checked and all these things are fine. When I initially tried her in November other than slightly leaning on the bit, she did not show any of these characteristics. My instructor and 2 other experienced riders have also had the same problems when riding and mounting her. Hopefully we can help horse and owner get back on track!
