https://facebook/events/758832290846952 Saturday, July 12at 8:45pm - 10:30pm goo.gl/maps/ryS3V Join the Full Moon Runners for a 6-7 mile jaunt in Fort Steilacoom Park to celebrate the Full Buck Moon - our first run here :D Well be recreating one of the loops of the Dirty Girls/Dudes half-marathon run last month. I think one loop has only about 500ft of overall elevation gain, and well have some nice open areas to oggle at the moon if the clouds dare to part. In theory, the park closes at sunset, so well meet at a nearby coffee house (Black Bear on Steilacoom Blvd, and jog in from there). Map of meeting place is here: goo.gl/maps/FVVAU I will be adding 4-5 miles on prior to meeting time - if anyone would like to join me, let me know. There are a couple of bars nearby, in case anyone has a thirst afterwards . . . Why Full Buck Moon? July is normally the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur. It was also often called the Full Thunder Moon, for the reason that thunderstorms are most frequent during this time. Another name for this month’s Moon was the Full Hay Moon.
