https://facebook/ have heard this about Cady Noland before. Cady intentionally dropped out of the art world. Although for the time she made art and wrote criticism she was respected. Then it just stopped. I dont believe this at all. Artists dont stop making art. So what was it? Was she taken by aliens and thats the best all of these writers are gonna say in the end. Of course they are expected to propose something glamorous and thought provoking. Even if there is none. Maybe she had a fight with her dealers and she was pushed out and perhaps at first she tried to fight back but just found the disgusting inevitable truth that no matter how interesting her work may be that in the end, the way she may have been treated might have been the biggest influence of all. Maybe she was forced out. For reasons not publicly admitted of course. It is not unlikely that corrupt power players who perhaps didnt like something she said about ones spouse at a dinner one night had a mean vengeful spirit. Then vowed to do what ever they could to keep it a secret from an audience of any status. Who ever really knows these details? Obviously I dont have the answers either but when I read criticism written from someone who could only just be speculating too. My cynicism tends to rise up like Godzilla and the world of disbelief becomes more comforting in it;s realism then anything else. Just dropping out without a word and letting the critics and such answer this question is dare I say it-- a cover up? . The answers I always hear when this subject Is brought up is always suspicious. I dont think she just gave up. I think someone gave her up, it spread in ways unimaginable and the rest of the story needs answering by Cady Noland herself.
