When the general public is misled by additional features that are available its sad. * Make Calls and Read/Send Text Messages. Messenger can replace Stock Android Texting and can place calls in the app. It also uses text messaging to verify phone numbers on their service, to save the user from having to text fb to 32665. Thats THE ONLY THING it does with that. * Camera/Microphone You can send snippets of Audio and Video from the application without having to open the camera application. Ease of use feature. If I wanted to explain each and every permission from the side of a developer, Id go insane because its not Facebooks fault.
