https://indiegogo/projects/help-bury-lenin/#home On the 19th of May we held a launch for the Indiegogo campaign for LENIN-Film in Cannes at the Latvian Pavilion. We were overwhelmed with the response. Over 200 people attended to support the project and the filmmakers in Kyrgyzstan. We were honoured to host the prodigious Australian director and filmmaker Rolf de Heer, German Films representative Simone Baumann, Cannes Directors Fortnight selector Benjamin Illos and representatives from the Kennedy/Marshall company and Odessa and Moscow Film Festivals. We were most honoured, however, to host the many independent and unnamed filmmakers from around the world who came to throw their support behind Kyrgyzstan. From the United States of America to Croatia, from Norway to New Zealand, from the United Kingdom to Australia, the filmmakers who eke by to do the work they love and make the films that need to be seen - you all came out in force to support us and you are our base. Let not the flash of Cannes blind us to what this campaign is about - we need to get this film out into the world. We need to fund the crew and we need to get this film made to change the filmmaking landscape of a nation! Much love and thanks to Guna Stahovska of Mojo Film in Latvia and Latvian Film for making the event a reality and being such ardent supporters of the project! #FundTheCrew #HelpBuryLenin A massive THANK YOU to Jasmin Kent Rodgman, Eve Jenkin, Michael Allen Cimpher, Twan Da Silva and Guna Stahovska for their help and support in the launch of the campaign.
