https://m.youtube/watch?v=bdPqGLB18js 67 years since India woke up to its freedom. While the country celebrates and rejoices it, id like to differ! The colourful wrist bands, the patriotic song rush, the only day flag saluting gimmick, the suddenly sounding patriotic tone all for a day is perfect.. But then lets talk a lil business.. At the risk of sounding pessimist may i ask u what freedom have you adorned me with as a lawful citizen in the country? I feel unsafe, i can be eve teased, molested, raped and killed and i will still be spoken about in terms of candle light marches and protests -all for a day.I can be harassed for dowry, beaten black and blue, burnt to death and yet be replaced to another creed of my kind who will face the same fate as mine.I will be shot down at all opportunities cause i am a girl. I shall have pages of a list of donts even before i am born. Worse still i am the first to be wanted to get rid off while at the womb for me being a girl. Where then am i free? And no its not only the govt, the bureaucracy or anybody to pass the buck on. It is WE inclusive. You and I Stop telling me what not to do. I am as free as u claim u r! I am and will be better at most things u can do. Let me live just like the way u live. Let me hold a place in this country that doesn take another 67 years for anyone of my clan to feel free. And if you dont yield mind you i will revolt like i revolted to set myself free from the clutches of british. At the end i am feminine and referred to as Mother India. So let me enjoy my freedom as much as you do! Stop seeing me as a piece of flesh! And to a the women out there - Stand up for urself, no one else will! Happy Independence Day cause you live in a beautiful country that i would never want to give up for anything
