https://youtube/watch?v=-mdLvy8o1cU#t=27 Planet Hip Hop Festival Concert WESU is media a sponsor of Muslim Womens Voices at Wesleyan, a yearlong exploration presented by Wesleyan Universitys Center for the Arts to expand awareness, knowledge, and understanding of Muslim cultures through the lens of performance. This Saturday, September 20, the Planet Hip Hop Festival, curated by Nomadic Wax, will feature three afternoon workshops and evening performances by international Muslim women in hip hop, including Londons spoken-word duo Poetic Pilgrimage, the U.S. debut of Montreal-based Algerian singer-songwriter and rapper Meryem Saci as a solo artist, and the New England debut of Washington, D.C.-based and Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter, poet, and emcee Maimouna Youssef a.k.a. Mumu Fresh as a solo artist. Poetic Pilgrimage has toured with Talib Kweli and Mr. Lif. Meryem Saci has opened for Mos Def, Wyclef Jean, Public Enemy, and Busta Rhymes. Maimouna Youssef a.k.a. Mumu Fresh has toured with The Roots and Common, and performed with Nas, Jill Scott, and Erykah Badu.
