https://youtube/watch?v=4Zpx0vw_R84 Beautiful is a very strange story, I was working and writing in Spain many moons ago and I had a phone call from a dear friend Greg Darling who was stumped for lyrics for a song so he sent me Beautiful, It wasnt called that at that point in time but he had the basis on the track there. Greg was expecting to have Beautiful back as an idea a few days later. I really had to work on it and I had to think what was affected me most recently whether its about myself or my best friend. It was like a test, I had to send him something back that was, I wouldnt say flawless but certainly commited to the idea of the song. I actually took that re - worked it and did it myself and then for a whole weekend a long weekend or maybe even longer I couldnt get through to Greg anymore, at which point I found out hed made up some lyrics quickly went into the studio and recorded it. I remember discussing and watching or hearing something about that idea that we all still exist that we are all stardust that we come into formation then we all float back to the dust again. Everything you see everything you feel everything you touch everybody that we love and the idea was to take that turn into a song. Obvioulsy it related to dad, also my stepfather and my best friends fathers who have passed. From : DVD Through The Picture Window Booklet.
