https://youtube/watch?v=7Bccd4XwYj8 My mother messaged me this video on FB and it got me thinking about EB and sports. Personally I have dystrophic EB as does my mother. She was not allowed to practice sports when she was younger, so she raised me with the idea just try it out and see if you can do it. So Im curious, who has a sport they like and maybe practice(d) with EB????? A list of the things I tried (at least what I can remember now) My main wound prevention is gloves, I have a big collection and every kind there is. *Arrow shooting (It is the sport I practice now, only compound worked out and I wear sleeves, a wrist protector and gloves under my gear.) *Horse riding, all kinds of different disciplines (Did it for 13/14 years, started with a legging under my riding pants but learned to ride without, but always wear gloves cant ride without them. The most pleasant for my skin was western and natural horsemanship.) *Swimming (the freedom of water, never had problems except if I bumped with other swimmers) * Skiing and snowboarding (love it, but have to bandage myself for a week afterwards) * Sailing (gloves, there are special sailing gloves that cover the entire hand.) *canoeing and rowing (again gloves) *Biking (gloves and a special couriers bike, but can also be because Im Dutch. We are raised with bikes.) *Fencing (A course of a week but went great, they already have good gear.) *Gunshooting (My arrowshootingclub had an exchange/co-up with a gunshootingclub, as long as I used positions that were comfortable with my skin I had no problem.) *Fitness (Gloves and I try to use the training machines as little as possible because they give more friction.) The things that always failed for me are team and ball sports, to much falling and bumping.
