https://youtube/watch?v=H8D93Awa434. Ive watched this CARTOON when I was a little boy and several times in the past few years. Now I have a question and would appreciate others opinions. When I was little I didnt know what I now know about racism, but I admit to thinking this was funny. Now its banned! My question is not as simple as sounds, but I ask purely out of curiosity and NOT racism, nor am I asking to condemn, condone, provoke or encourage racism or hatred in any way shape or form. This cartoon was a classic and watched by millions many year ago, and now its labeled as RACIST. Because of this cartoon did my/our generation grow-up more racially tolerant? And since this cartoon has been labeled as racist, are/is the generation(s) after us being groomed to be less tolerant? It would seem to me that our world has come full circle and we are once again fighting each other because of our race, gender, religious, political and social differences. There seems to be absolutely NO tolerance nor respect for or towards each other as people. So please read, watchand listen without prejudice and share your thoughts. Was the creator of the cartoon making fun of race or appealing to ignorance? I can attest to the ladder because I found this funny as a child and I was absolutely ignorant of racism. But if we cant laugh at ourselves, we shouldnt laugh others and we (absolutely everyone in the world) most certainly do laugh at others. After all, there is only one race with which we should concern ourselves.....THE HUMAN RACE!
