https://youtube/watch?v=PH7arem4tqY Two years ago society had a very serious eyeopener when Amanda Todd reached out for help, then sadly took her life. Since then the stand against bullying has increased, people are now more aware to the reality of bullying, to a degree it is now called bullycide. I was seriously considering suicide in grade 9, I was at the point where I was done. When you have that fear, and that constant feeling where youre alone, judged, hated, disliked, neglected, and ignored youre haunted by it. It haunts you at night, it eats at you inside. You never feel safe, even when youre in bed under your covers you realize how this issue is taking you over. When you fall asleep, a time where we should be having dreams, peaceful dreams, as a bully victim your constant is nightmares. You are always running, you are always hiding, it seems no matter where you turn, the bullying is right there with you. Yet, there can be no one around, and you will still be getting bullied. What happens is soon your mind starts to agree with what the bullies are saying, you then start to bully yourself, you then start to bring yourself down. This is when you need help the most, this is when you need support, and this is when you need someone, anyone to be there. This is where WE come in, this is where YOU come in, this is where I come in. This is where we all need to hold ourselves accountable, this is where we need to look around and realize others need help, just as we do in your lives. Amanda took her life not cause she was a coward, not cause she was weak, and not cause she wanted attention. She was lost, she was broken, she felt alone, she felt scared, she felt everywhere she went she was not safe. She felt that no one understood her, not only that no one understood her, but due to everything she was going through she could not understand herself. When you are so down on yourself, so scared, and so worried you lose control of who you are. You begin to slip away, you begin to slowly lose everything that allows you to feel content. Everything becomes a fear, everyone becomes a threat. Depression becomes the only thing you are familiar with, it is the only thing that feels normal to you, it becomes a normalcy. Depression soon becomes your only focus, as it is everywhere you go, literally it is always with you. Depression can only be overpowered with genuine support, genuine guidance, and genuine understanding. Amanda needed all of these, however, all she found was the opposite from those who tormented her. It seems bullying is NOT serious to some until it is too late, it seems those who bully see no foul or harm done until the person is gone. Then they live their life with guilt and regret, this does not need to be the case. There is a way to break this cycle, there is a way we can solve this issue, when we realize the problem. Us, we are the only cure, no law will save us, no school policy will protect them, we all know many bully incident reports are ignored, this is something we all know. The only cure is compassion, support, guidance, and understanding. The support we need is in all of us, literally in all of us. We are all equipped with these tools, they are right inside us, however, they are past ego and arrogance. Once you can get past your arrogance and ego, and realize how bullying another makes YOU a hypocrite is when we can help one another. Bullying needs to stop, but it will only stop with us, we are the ones who cause it. It is not something that appears out of nowhere, it is something people choose to do, it is something people choose to say. Just as you choose to bully, you can choose to stop, truly you can. I promise you this, you will gain more confidence in yourself, you will gain more respect, and you will gain more honor. Bullying has ZERO benefit for anyone, even you, the bully. Open your eyes to the damage you are causing, every reported suicide of a youth is due to what you are doing to someone else. Bullying stops with you, I know you have it in you to stop, I know you do. i am here to help you to stop as well, together we CAN and WILL stop bullying. Unite. Protect. Empower. facebook/BoddyguardsUnited Rest in peace Amanda Todd.
