The Pasquier Trio was founded in 1927 and consisted of 3 brothers: Jean Pasquier (1904-1992), violin Pierre Pasquier (1902-1986), viola Etienne Pasquier, cello. The trio played together for more than 40 years and premiered many contemporary compositions, including Martinu, Roussel, Milhaud, Jolivet and Françaix. The cellist Etienne Pasquier participated in the first version of the famous Quatuor pour la fin du temps by Messiaen. Quintet.
