What do we do that fuels this anger towards us? Is it something we can correct? If it is, then we must correct it. But back then, I was a 21 year old college student and this was just about the only commentary which affected me. He said a lot more positive in his speech than any politician or major network broadcaster. It still affects me to this day. My two closest friends lived in NYC back then and one was head of the Muslim student organization at NYU. With phones out to NYC, I couldnt get a hold of them for days. I was a shellshocked version of myself for weeks afterwards. Lost my job at the CVS near campus because I just didnt see its importance at that point. I went with a few friends to the mall nearby UConn and just wandered around, trying to feel normal again.
