https://youtube/watch?v=j3KeZnbD-eA Pochampally, famous for its unique Ikat style of saree making, is a quintessential village settlement on the fringes of a truly global city, Hyderabad. It is greatly enriched by its weaving culture and a strong historical context. Steeped deep in culture and traditions, its welcoming embrace instantly overwhelms by its serenity and simplicity. The endearing and meditative drone of the handloom draws one effortlessly into the lives of weavers and their families. The sight of elders, man, woman and child alike, toiling away to produce the exquisite 9 yards which outlines Indian Culture in a gist, is remarkable to say the least. The lives of the land in themselves pull a thousand strings in the heart, inspiring Indias ace film-maker, Shyam Benegal, to direct Susman, a film based in Pochampally and dwelling on the lives of the weavers, in 1987. Earlier this year, Tadaamyaham -the Design Studio with its Founders, Pallavi D and Vipul Bhole, were deputed by Government Of Telangana via Telangana Tourism in association with Indian Trust for Rural Heritage and Development to initiate Heritage(Craft) Conservation work in Bhoodan Pochampally. Our work in Pochampally entailed formulation of a Report for Development and Government Policy Recommendations for the craft cluster towards Living Heritage conservation with the context of Rural Tourism. Part of our work with Telangana Tourism was also to create promotional content to help in forwarding the essence of Pochampally through its fabulous offerings, be it culture, people, weaving tradition, or its natural backdrop. It is with great excitement that we now offer this essence for you to take a whiff from. Care to watch it in HD/FullHD, if your screen resolution and buffering speed concur. with- Shashi Kant Misra Pallavi Dee Vipul Bhole Amit Chander
