https://youtube/watch?v=j93iWtUiMQI watching this docu makes me feel nostalgic... although I have never been to Batanes, the place where my father was born and where he grew up. In the docu, I hear familiar names of places i once had visited in my imagination, guided by my father through his stories of home. I feel a different kind of sadness watching this video, a sadness I cannot describe. It is a sadness I feel for my father. My father left Batanes when he was in his mid 20s. He never went back since. I now know why he always talked about Batanes and his experiences as a young boy then, he must have missed home so much. He passed away last January after more than 60 years of being away from home. I miss my father ... and that is why watching this video made me sad.
