They work with whats coming together right now, with these musicians, with these dancers, with the vibe of the room... in ways that no-one can quite explain... the culture just opens up extra levels... ... Still looking at these clips ... way back from 1997 ... I cant help grieve a bit that I wasnt there... and that these moments dont last forever ! Looks like Osvaldo Chacon himself, wherever he is these days, uploaded these amazing moments... ... around this time of these videos, my personal timba journey was just starting... Harbourfront brought Los Van Van in to Toronto about 1997... cant forget the picture of Pedrito Calvo with the big white sombrero, kerchief, el negro cocinando, and the dancers translating the complex percussion for us ...
