When I was a young college student at Montana State University in Bozeman around 1966, this song slipped through the hands of the local radio censors who were supposed to protect our innocent minds from subversive jazz, rock & roll, and rhythm & blues music. Their mission was to give us only good ol country & western stuff. We had to switch over to the KOMA Oklahoma City AM radio station. It was about 700 miles away and the fog and the bad weather sometimes kept us from picking up the latest breakthroughs in pop music. I wanted to play jazz in the school band but there were only marching songs and a small classical orchestra. As a guy told me yesterday, I am a political(musical) refugee. Well, I think the times have changed in good ol Montana (I hope as I havent been back for a while)!
