You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by. Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning. You will be secure, because there is hope;you will look about you and take your rest in safety. You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favor. Day 10 Pray according to – Jeremiah 33:3 (amplified) Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand. Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me as a vital necessity and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Turn my heart toward your statutesand not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things;preserve my life according to your word. Fulfill your promise to your servant,so that you may be feared. Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good. How I long for your precepts! In your righteousness preserve my life. Day 21-26 Begin to incorporate the Word of God to your prayer life, find time to study His Word just as you are finding time to pray during this Prayer challenge. Over the course of the next days, meditate and pray according to – Psalm 119:9-16 How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart;do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heartthat I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, Lord;teach me your decrees. With my lips I recountall the laws that come from your mouth. I rejoice in following your statutesas one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees;I will not neglect your word. Day 27 Meditate and Pray according – Psalm 27:1-14 The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against meto devour me,it is my enemies and my foeswho will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me,my heart will not fear;though war break out against me,even then I will be confident. One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek:that I may dwell in the house of the Lordall the days of my life,to gaze on the beauty of the Lordand to seek him in his temple. For in the day of troublehe will keep me safe in his dwelling;he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tentand set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exaltedabove the enemies who surround me;at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;I will sing and make music to the Lord. Hear my voice when I call, Lord;be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”Your face, Lord, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me,do not turn your servant away in anger;you have been my helper.Do not reject me or forsake me,God my Savior. Though my father and mother forsake me,the Lord will receive me. Teach me your way, Lord;lead me in a straight pathbecause of my oppressors. Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me,spouting malicious accusations. I remain confident of this:I will see the goodness of the Lordin the land of the living. Wait for the Lord;be strong and take heartand wait for the Lord. Day 28 PRAYER & fast – (break at 6pm but do not eat any meat during this fast, including when you break your fast) Pray according to (for your family, your neighbourhood, your work or uni colleagues, your country, your president, this world, lost souls, schools, those in jails wrongly convicted, orphans, widows – pray for people) – Daniel 9:3-6 So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes. I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed:“Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our ancestors, and to all the people of the land. Day 29 PRAYER & fast – (break at 6pm but do not eat any meat during this fast, including when you break your fast) Continuation on Daniel to pray according to Pray according to (for your family, your neighbourhood, your work or uni colleagues, your country, your president, this world, lost souls, schools, those in jails wrongly convicted, orphans, widows – pray for people) – Daniel 9:7-14 “Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame—the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries where you have scattered us because of our unfaithfulness to you. We and our kings, our princes and our ancestors are covered with shame, Lord, because we have sinned against you. The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him; we have not obeyed the Lord our God or kept the laws he gave us through his servants the prophets. All Israel has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you.“Therefore the curses and sworn judgments written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against you. You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing on us great disaster. Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem. Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth. The Lord did not hesitate to bring the disaster on us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him. Day 30 PRAYER & fast – (break at 6pm but do not eat any meat during this fast, including when you break your fast) Continuation on Daniel to pray according to Pray according to (for your family, your neighbourhood, your work or uni colleagues, your country, your president, this world, lost souls, schools, those in jails wrongly convicted, orphans, widows – pray for people) – Daniel 9:15-19 “Now, Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong. Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us. “Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary. Give ear, our God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.” Day 31-32 Meditate and pray according to – Jonah 2:2-9 He said:“In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me.From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry. You hurled me into the depths, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me;all your waves and breakersswept over me. I said, ‘I have been banishedfrom your sight;yet I will look againtoward your holy temple.’ The engulfing waters threatened me,the deep surrounded me;seaweed was wrapped around my head. To the roots of the mountains I sank down;the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, Lord my God,brought my life up from the pit. “When my life was ebbing away,I remembered you, Lord, and my prayer rose to you,to your holy temple. “Those who cling to worthless idolsturn away from God’s love for them. But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good.I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’” Day 33-38 Meditate and pray according to: Psalm 23:1-6 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures,he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.He guides me along the right pathsfor his name’s sake. Even though I walkthrough the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me;your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before mein the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil;my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow meall the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Day 39 Meditate and pray according to, as a commemoration of the Lord present help and His constant watch over you and His hand upon your life despite the good and bad seasons and times you have faced thus far – Psalm 139:1-18 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down;you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongueyou, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit?Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there;if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn,if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me,your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide meand the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you;the night will shine like the day,for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being;you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;your works are wonderful,I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from youwhen I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body;all the days ordained for me were written in your bookbefore one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God!How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you. Day 40 Meditate and pray according to – Genesis 22:1-2 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”“Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Day 41 – 49 Study, Meditate and pray according to – James 1:2-5 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. Day 50 – 58 For the following 8 days Begin to give thanks to Him reminding Him of What He did according to – Psalm 136:1-26 Oh, give thanks to the God of gods! For His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords! For His mercy endures forever: To Him who alone does great wonders,For His mercy endures forever; To Him who by wisdom made the heavens,For His mercy endures forever; To Him who laid out the earth above the waters,For His mercy endures forever; To Him who made great lights,For His mercy endures forever— The sun to rule by day,For His mercy endures forever; The moon and stars to rule by night,For His mercy endures forever. To Him who struck Egypt in their firstborn,For His mercy endures forever; And brought out Israel from among them,For His mercy endures forever; With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm,For His mercy endures forever; To Him who divided the Red Sea in two,For His mercy endures forever; And made Israel pass through the midst of it,For His mercy endures forever; But overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea,For His mercy endures forever; To Him who led His people through the wilderness,For His mercy endures forever; To Him who struck down great kings,For His mercy endures forever; And slew famous kings,For His mercy endures forever— Sihon king of the Amorites,For His mercy endures forever; And Og king of Bashan,For His mercy endures forever— And gave their land as a heritage,For His mercy endures forever; A heritage to Israel His servant,For His mercy endures forever. Who remembered us in our lowly state,For His mercy endures forever; And rescued us from our enemies,For His mercy endures forever; Who gives food to all flesh,For His mercy endures forever.
