So.. it was lab period and teacher said, class, today were going to have flame test!! and our class was like Yey!! now if you dont know what a flame test is, its like a test wherein you put a substance, any substance in a flame and you can see from the color it turns, what elements the substance could contain. so we had a flame test. One of the substances just happened to be potassium. before doing the potassium flame test ourselves, my group had seen the other groups do it so of course we were excited. I mean it turns into such a pretty color! I was pretty happy too, until we actually had the flame test... Because what we did was we placed it on a metal rod (the potassium)then held to rod over the flame. I accidentally touched the end of the rod with potassium on it and Boom...... My finger got burned. It hurt so much... and for so long also. Moral of the story? beware potassium. or maybe just beware of pretty things because they might end up hurting you in the end...
