i always make sure that i have read this every day and hear what the nation most concern and my conclusion that , always some government employee are the one that fails my government and they must be expelled !!we do not want all this! see why below. *PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba, you are concerned about the slow economic growth in Namibia, but you allow Chinese and North Koreans working in this country to drain every resource we have. Look at the building industry and how much tax the shop owners in China Town pay. They drive expensive cars, eat out all the time, yet the honest Namibian is paying a fortune on taxes. *PRIME Minister and Minister of Education, NSFAF must pay 100% tuition and accommodation for those students in hostels. The Zimbabwean president is applauded for having educated his nation well. The secret: 100% funding. Students should focus on their studies and not worry about fees. Bouquets And Brickbats *CAN the people in the whole world stand up and force their governments to resign or terminate their membership with the UN and ICC? The UN and ICC are the organisations of the war promoters. Only America, Israel, France and Britain have the right to invade and steal other country’s resources. Our leaders must unite and form a new organisation which will represent all poor and rich nations. Is Gaza not a UN and ICC paid-up member? Is the peace of the people in Gaza disturbed by the Russian government? There is no difference between Israel, America, Britain and France. When will their sanctions be announced by the UN?–Asheelo Jr. *WE want to know the heroes of the Namibian army. We want to know the name of the first commander who went with the soldiers to the DRC and which commander was fighting with the aim to release our soldiers who were surrounded by the rebels for more than a year. We want to write our history. CDF’s response will be highly appreciated. *STRUGGLE kids, how will we call your children born while you were illegally camping at Okahandja Park? Are they also struggle kids? *MINISTER, deputy minister, permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretary, director and deputy director, for goodness sake, do we really need all these people or is it just a case of jobs for comrades? Poverty is on the increase, and one day we, the masses, will be free from this form of oppression. *SOUTH African Airways installed special scanners for the Ebola virus. NAC should at least show a bit of concern and follow suit. *IT is time that the media start respecting the Aawambo-Ovawambo people and stop the use of derogatory terms referring to us as Oshiwambo-speaking. We are proud Aawambo-Ovawambo. *AVID has been delayed for almost eight years. Evidence of theft had been kept under the carpet. Government is shielding naked theft. Do we need another ministry or vice president? Where are we going, Namibia? Children are found on dumpsites, hungry. The mass housing project is ripped off by those who are not in need. Youth leaders like Job Amupanda are shunned. *CAN the Namibian Police officers and Namibian Defence Force members be more professional when it comes to answering their office telephones? Stop using words like sharp, nca, aweh, brah, etc.–A concerned citizen *IN the Times magazine, Namibia is not in the top five richest countries. Yet the property prices are. President Hifikepunye Pohamba, appoint a price control board from all levels of society. Thank you. *IT will do us all good as Namibians if the MPs also sign a performance agreement. Some are just sitting there in the National Assemble doing nothing and wasting government resources. President, do something, please. *TO the Namibian Squash Association: The Klein Windhoek Squash Club is where Klein Windhoek starts, on the right hand side of Kuiseb Street. Eros Park is from Paramount and Medi-Clinic, and north. *ACKERMANS, you are wrong. It is not spring. Spring starts on 1 September, don’t you know that? Spring day is 1 September. *I SUGGEST the German aid should be given to the Nama and Ovaherero populated regions to develop as these regions lack development. Proposed Constitutional Amendments *PRIME Minister Hage Geingob proposes that the State-Owned Enterprises Governance Council should become the Ministry of Public Enterprises. I propose a new ministry for religious and moral affairs. It will amongst other responsibilities ensure that moral standards are instilled and that godly values are taught to our children, and that government gives 10% of income from natural resources to the church. *A VICE President can replace the Prime Minister even if it is an issue of inclusivity and still be in charge of government business in parliament. The title Vice President sounds even more superior than the title Prime Minister. *IF democracy prevails at all in Namibia, may we as citizens know exactly why those selfish elite in power are rushing those changes to the country’s laws without consulting us who voted them into power? – P Ndeutapo *THE Informante story on constitutional changes is misleading. The 5% requirement to qualify for parliament was removed. Try and be objective. *THE proposed constitutional amendments currently being debated must be subjected to a national referendum. Directorate of Civil Aviation *THANK you for publishing the names of the so-called ICAO experts. Please don’t retain them, is all I can advise our government. They are paid to relax and not to work. *PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba, we are losing money in this country. Fire minister Errki Nghimtina, the NAC board and the director of civil aviation as well as the entire Air Namibia Board as soon as possible. *THIS whole Air Namibia/NAC debacle should hopefully have our political leaders pondering whether Namibia can afford the exorbitant costs of trying to play in the big leagues of international aviation. The question we should ask ourselves as a nation is whether the billions spent annually on the two floundering and mismanaged parastatals could be better spent on improving the country’s health and education system, social grants, law enforcement or physical infrastructure? Maybe it’s time to consider right-sizing our civil aviation sector. The prestige of flying directly to the EU comes at a very high financial cost. Is it worth it?–Mburumba *PM, the fact and truth is even if ICAO experts don’t do their job properly or below standard, who will question it? The poor director is unqualified and has no idea what is going on because this is a highly technical job requiring both experience and qualifications. Worse, she reports mostly straight to the minister only. All this Namibia Civil Aviation mess is a result of the director’s incompetence. *I DO not see the need for Erkki Nghimtina in renewing the contracts of the nine so-called ICAO consultants. How long does it take to write a regulation and how many DCA inspectors did they train so far? This is just a waste of the taxpayers’ money! Please fire them all. *BLAME the minister for the aviation mess. What qualification do the consultants have? They don’t know anything about aviation. Kick them out. *WE suspended Theo Namases at Air Namibia and gave all good reasons. Why can we then also not suspend the CEO of NAC, the board and director of DCA for failing Namibia? In And From The Regions *COUNCILLOR of Mashare Village, when are you going to start developing this village? Why is it that we are still struggling without electricity? Get us power generators which could be very handy. Government should also build us a school, please. *I AM complaining about Kayec in Rehoboth. In the dressmaking class the instructors are only using Afrikaans and Damara-Nama. Some of us Ovawambo do not understand anything. Why not just teach in English, which is the official language in the country? *ANTI-CORRUPTION Commission and comrade Charles Namoloh, come investigate the Lüderitz Town Council. We don’t like the way they operate and we suspect something fishy is going on there. My son qualifies and has a three year trade qualification as a plant operator, but management says he is too young to get his C3 grading. They want to rather put him in a B4 category. – A concerned parent *NAMWATER, please relocate the water meters at Oshifukwa cuca-shops to the other side of the road. Pipes are too many and they can no longer fit at that little space between the bridge and the water meter. *THE lives of people in Zambezi region are in danger at the hands of the BDF. Why is Botswana taking the law into their own hands by treating Namibians the way they want? Our government must stop the BDF near the boarder of Botswana and Zambezi. The government must do something now. We are afraid of our lives. *MINISTER of Defence Nahas Angula, we want the NDF camp at Ngoma border in the Zambwezi or anywhere along the Chobe river. For how long must we suffer at the hands of the Botswana Defence Force? *OTJIWARONGO Police, some of your officers must learn how to investigate cases. Stop covering up for your family if they are involved in criminal cases. Don’t be one-sided during your investigations. Health *MINISTER of Health and Social Services Richard Kamwi, can you please make a turn at the Keetmanshoop Regional Health Training Centre? The students are treated like small children, the head of the centre wants all the ladies to wear their natural hair which is not possible. Minister make a turn, we are tired of this nonsense. *RICHARD Kamwi, I just want to inform you that we, the state ambulance emergency care practitioners based in Windhoek, are earning salaries equivalent to ordinary drivers. We have waited for our overtime payments for a full year now. Unfairness in the Namibian government continues. *MINISTRY of Health and Social Services, do something about our appointment letters. We as health extension workers are still at pioneer class since 2012 and we are tired of empty promises from the district management in Opuwo. We are hungry. What must we do? Employment *WHAT is the need to advertise a tender only for people to waste their time while the Ministry of Education hostel division has a preferred company? Anti-Corruption Commission, please investigate. *OSHIKOTO Regional Council, which criteria do you use in your selection when shortlisting jobs or awarding tenders? Your systems are always flawed, compromised and interfered with by ‘external’ forces. Why? Namibia is a unitary state, and its laws, rules and regulations must apply in Oshikoto as well. Education *EDUCATION Minister David Namwandi, please be informed: There is a better way than ruling with an iron fist. Strive for respect and commitment. Your style is old-fashioned. *FREE education. Each pupil is allocated N$188 to N$250. Who determined that? Stationery alone for one primary school learner amounts to N$1 000. What does the child get for N$188 then? *REGIONAL education director for Khomas, please advise the principals that they cannot delegate all their duties all the time. Some learners at a specific school claim that they don’t even see their principal once for a whole term. *PRINCIPAL of Emma Hoogenhout Primary School, why leave the school at 11h00 and run away from your responsibility to announce the death of one of your pupils? *MINISTER of Education, visit Canisianum Roman Catholic High School in Omusati region. We need a new principal and hostel matrons because the current ones are practising favouritism and they are destroying the school. Please hear our cries. Labour *PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba, investigate the promotion in your office. It’s not fair at all that the HR managers promote their family and friends twice a year. We have a group of cleaners of which some started to work in 2008 and 2009 with no promotion. Comrade President, please call our PS and HR to ask how they promoted people in your office. *RÖSSING, Uranium, please explain what formula you used to pay out the pension surplus. We as pensioners were not informed. The surplus was more than N$800 million but it now shrunk to N$400 million. I can smell a stinking rot! No wonder the company has gone down the drain. *MINISTRY of Defence’s HR management is headed by a hand-picked woman who was given the rank of colonel by General Ndjoba. The woman is certainly not the right person for that position and now the HR department is in a total mess. The lady was at the Office of the Prime Minister and resigned under pressure. God help us, this is bad posting at its best. *I AM a very angry employee of Woermann Brock. Can the government of Namibia help the staff of this shop? Until today (Friday), no payslips are ready for us. We do not get overtime and Sunday pay. The manager expects us to work overtime but at the end of the day there is no compensation for that, and they even deduct our hours. *Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources Bernard Esau, why does a company like Namsov not get a quota? What will happen to the 490 Namibian workers if Namsov does not have the right to catch fish? *STOP the practice to appoint former principals as CEOs and Directors. It’s a recipe for disaster and pathetically run companies and regional offices. Service Please *MTC, do something to put up a tower at Onkani in the Omusati region. Electricity is available in Onkani village but we have no network. We are looking forward to a lasting solution. *FNB Namibia, you moved my account from the Exclusive Suite to the main branch. Is it because I am not rich enough, or is there more to it? No wonder your employees are complaining. *STANDARD Bank in Swakopmund, just close your doors. It’s now six weeks I am waiting for a credit card’s pin number. What poor service! viva
