i am grateful to have been exposed to process theology, which has a lot to do with quantum mechanics. Perhaps that is why i find it difficult to connect with folks who are still trying to talk about Creationism or Intelligent Design. We believe the Bible.... Process thought per se can never give normative value to a text, much less a collection of texts brimming, on some accounts, with internal contradictions. Process thought seeks to inform and guide through the creation of a philosophical scheme that should be coherent, logical, and applicable and adequate to the world of public experience. Evangelical Christians deem the Bible as normative for their common life prior to any independent demonstration of its coherence, logic, adequacy, and so on, and they consider its concrete particularity - the opposite of abstract generality - a source of its strength and a sign of the sovereign freedom of God in his dealings with his creation. [God] has free control over the wording of Holy Scripture. He can use it or not use it . He can use it in this way or that way. Furthermore, evangelicals will not make common cause with Christians who dilute or question biblical authority. There are, however, some evangelicals working with hermeneutics quite different from that which sees the Scripture as a collection of prescriptive atomic facts. Rather, they understand the Bible as a people-forming narrative, a conversation across the centuries between God and Gods people, evolving and cumulative, yet exemplifying certain core principles, for instance, Gods redemptive love.
