i have 3 of these but you can buy 1, or all three, they are 40 chs 5 watts, and 2 come with rubber duckie antennas with are better than the installed ones, one has the original antenna, the other two have been broken off, but the rubber duckies replace them, these are real neat i think because of the ch selector is on top, they work very good,these do have a 8 to 10 mile range depending on conditions, and are handy to have around the house for any reason,if the microwave cell phone towers ever go down, these are your only way to talk to the outside world, they take 8 aa alkaline batts or a dc adaptor ( one included) , or a 16 volt charger or a 12 volt ac adaptor, all available from radio shack, also they can charge 8 ni cad rechargeable batts . from radio shack or ebay , but must be Nickel–cadmium batts....25.00 each. or 2 for 45.00
