i have been reading about good cooking ( i could not spell cusine?) articles in the NYTimes. while i dont that i ever attain a high level of expertise i find it very interesting.For example there is a restaurant in Midtown that serves a flavor of Provence which I was lucky to visit a few times.a good choice of starter is the roasted leeks, topped by with duck prosciutto: mache type of salad green; and pig grilled(?)4red onion-onion, vinaigrette ($14). And for the main course esp. if you have a big appetite an hearty entree is the dagneau, a succulent top loin lamb jus harissa lemon confit and mint ($32), delivered in my best self learned French. Of course Chef Hoyt will top this with his creations.
