i really kind of dont like the phrase nuclear option. it reminds me of using ground zero for 9/11. i find that mildly offensive. because 9/11 was a terrible tragedy, but there was no ground zero. that was at hiroshima and nagasaki. i mean, ground zero is the worst part of a nuclear bomb explosion. a different order of disaster than two jumbo jets into a skyscraper. it is just misleading. if we are talking nuclear options as a political metaphor, it would apply more to the SCOTUS and the VRA than to the Senate filibuster rules. imo.
