i really need to stay off the internet... i know that when we talked to dr fridell before i started the transplant process, we asked how long the transplanted organ will last.. we got a vague answer the implied it was just a matter of medication and they dont stop working anymore... despite realistically knowing this was not true... also knowing my father was given 7-10 years for his liver and lived 12... i read and read and only 85% pancreases make it beyond the first 12 months and can function up to around 10 years... i know i will have to make that decision again when im around 40... but with as difficult as this transplant has been ... i dont know if i can do it again :(
