i was nominated by Kito Bovenschulte to come up with the 10 most influential albums in my life...the ones that made me want to play music and immerse myself in the groove. this is quite tough so bear with me.... in no real order: 1. The Jimi Hendrix Experience- Are You Experienced....Mitch Mitchell was my first true love.... 2. Van Halen...Diver Down/Fair Warning (tie) Alex Van Halen still has the best snare ever recorded in my opinion 3. Iron Maiden....Piece of Mind.....this was the first Maiden album i heard and from the opening fills of Where Eagles Dare...you can feel the evil....Nicko McBrains first album but Clive Burr actually grooved better 4.Pearl Jam- Ten.....Dave Abruzezze is a monster 5.Metallica- Puppets 6.Led Zeppelin- Song Remains The Same (the double live album)....life changing 7.Allman Brothers Band- At Fillmore East... double drumming and the layering during Liz Reed 8.Phish- A Live One..the first time i heard the Stash i got phish 9.A Tribe Called Quest- The Low End Theory... 10.MMW with Scofield Ago-go.... there are many honorable mentions but first that comes to mind is the first time i heard Sammy on Uncivilized Area...Basis...more to come as i remember lol
