iOS 8 (iPhone operating system) was revealed at the Worldwide - TopicsExpress

iOS 8 (iPhone operating system) was revealed at the Worldwide Developer’s Conference in early June. A lot of people have remarked that this is the hugest operating system launch yet- as a lot of developments have occurred, and Apple seems to have listened to its users. We’ve already discussed HealthKit and HomeKit, two platforms used to bring devices and apps together regarding your home and health. These platforms however, with iOS 8, will communicate between apps and devices. For example, two different apps will be able to share information using the platform and create a sort of whole picture. Apps will work together efficiently to provide data and analysis. Messaging is expected to improve to- notifications from group chats will be able to be silenced for one. Also, the new operating system will take into account who you are messaging and adjust its word replacement suggestions, etc. For instance, the phone will recognize that text messaging your friend has a different style and sound than emailing your boss. Also, for the Windows users (like myself) iCloud will allow you to work on any documents from your PC. iCould library will also back up ALL of your photos now, which you can view from any device. Another feature involving photos is the ability to edit them- change saturation, brightness, contrast, and hopefully more (a feature a lot of people have asked for in the past). That isn’t all though- there will also be a family sharing option so that purchases can be shared between up to six family member’s devices. Touch ID (fingerprint scanner) will continued to be used to unlock phones and provide authentication in the app store, but will also be used by third party apps. Spotlight and the app store will also be new and improved. There’s a lot to look forward to, we just have to wait until fall!
