The details of the event are as below: Topic : Indian Needs in Media Date : 1st July 2014, Tuesday Time : 7pm -10pm Venue : Klang Executive Club, Klang, Selangor. Language : Tamil and English Many community leaders and activist resorted to use literature for community rather than leaving the literature for literature itself. We suggest the media to take up literature as a tool to liberate the society in order to show them the future. The Media Community should identify the challenges and find ways to tackle it to be even more effective in revolutionizing the Indian Malaysian Community. • Indian Malaysian Media to find a way to reach the Youth and expand the number of readers to at least 50% in next 6 years by year 2020. • Indian Malaysian Media to optimize online platform as it is the only tool to provide Bi-lingual content and reach larger crowd, especially the Non-Tamil Readers. • Indian Malaysian Media to enhance the quality of journalists, reporters and news collection methods like Citizen Journalism and Blogging. • Synergize the Media Community with high ethical standards in Media profession and the dignifying of each media participant’s occupation as an opportunity to serve community. • Indian Malaysian Media to upgrade the Content and Mode of Presentation; Transformation towards factual & ethical reporting. • Indian Malaysian Media to be free of Personal, Political and Monetary influence. • Indian Malaysian Media must be the reliable source of information to the Community and the Country. • Indian Malaysian Media to uphold a friendly approach in reaching and engaging the Public. • Systematic expansion of Business News, International News, Trade News, Information Dissemination. • Systematic reduction or exclusion of “negative” news such as accident, commit suicide, crime, explicit content and fracas in politics. iTimes.my will compile input from dialog participants, analyze their valid opinions and include them in preparing a memorandum. This memorandum will then be channeled to members of the Government Agencies, Media Industry, Policy makers, Politicians from Barisan Nasional, Pakatan Rakyat and other political parties, Youth and NGO leaders and other concern individuals.
